SuccessFactors is a suite of cloud-based products that supports various HR tasks, including business alignment, people performance management, recruitment, and training and learning activities. The Human Experience Management (HXM) solution is designed to cater to businesses of all sizes and industries.
SuccessFactors consists of eight integrated modules:
- Employee Central: An advanced HR software designed to enhance enterprise productivity and provide leaders with valuable talent insights for informed decision-making.
- Recruiting: A comprehensive recruitment marketing and management solution that supports the engagement, sourcing, and hiring processes to discover top talent.
- Onboarding: A fresh approach to talent management, covering all aspects of the employee lifecycle.
- Learning: A fully integrated learning management system (LMS) that maximizes employee potential while improving work efficiency.
- Performance and Goals: A powerful tool for goal management, retention, reward, and employee development.
- Succession and Development: Empowers employees to reach their full potential, advance their careers, and accelerate learning through targeted development plans.
- Compensation: An integrated tool that supports motivation, skills, performance, retention, and compensation of the workforce.
- Workforce Analytics: Drives fact-based decision-making with powerful employee insights, helping companies address key workforce challenges.
- Time Management: This module enables efficient management of employee attendance, time tracking, and scheduling, with features such as timesheet management and absence tracking.
- Payroll: SuccessFactors provides a comprehensive solution for payroll management, including calculating wages, tax deductions, and benefits, ensuring accurate and timely payments while complying with legal requirements.
The SAP Business Technology Platform enables the integration of applications and extensions tailored to your business requirements. It also allows companies to develop and deploy custom applications within the SAP SuccessFactors solution.
SuccessFactors operates on a Software as a Service (SaaS) cloud model. The licensed software is subscription-based and centrally hosted on a remote cloud. This enables employees to access application data on-demand from any location using their login credentials.
The login page URL may vary based on customer and region. To access the login credentials, refer to the email notification from your administrator. If you are unable to locate it, please reach out to the administrator of your organization.
SuccessFactors can be accessed on mobile devices through the SF Mobile App. These mobile applications are included as part of your SuccessFactors subscription and are free of charge. To activate the SF Mobile App, request an activation code from your administrator. Once you have the code, follow these steps:
- Log in to your SuccessFactors account.
- Select Options, then Mobile.
- Enter the Activation Code.
- Upon successful entry, you will receive a confirmation message indicating the successful activation of your mobile device.
To add custom fields, field types, and picklist values, follow these steps:
- Log into SuccessFactors and access the Admin Center.
- Under the Employee Files menu, select “Define Employee Fields.”
- Scroll down to the desired information field and click the drop-down arrow on the right side of the table. Choose “Add Field.”
- A new field called “Custom Field 1” will appear. To rename the field, click the icon next to the custom field.
- By default, newly added fields are set as “Text” field types. To change the field type, select the drop-down arrow, choose “Change Type,” and click the “Change Type” button.
- Once you have successfully added a new custom field, click “Save” at the top right of the page.
To create a new user, access the SAP Support Portal and log in. Follow these steps:
- Click on the “Access my Launchpad” icon.
- Scroll to the bottom of the page to find “SuccessFactors Administration.”
- Select the “Support User Management” tile.
- Click “Request User” at the bottom right of the page.
- Provide the requested user information on the following page.
- To grant authorization to the user, follow these steps:
- Click on “Users.”
- Select the “Authorization” button at the top left of the page.
- Edit the authorization access for users by clicking the pencil icon on the right side of the page.
- To check authorization access for existing users, select the “Existing Authorizations” button on the top row.
Provisioning access enables consultants or partners to perform certain administrative tasks, such as changing scheduled jobs, enabling or disabling features, managing SSO settings, and adjusting other provisioning settings. However, provisioning access does not grant privileges for front-end changes, such as proxy rights, permissions, or user data modifications (unless scheduling jobs to import data).
